So I have been looking the past weeks at upgrading my camera and was seriously looking at the Canon 7D with superior speed and AF system in place.

So after reading, reading and reading, visiting Canon roadshow and a few shops and reading a bit more I came to the conclusion the 7D is not really going to fit my needs after all. Yes, I will like to get one also for a second body but yes I am working and with my salary this will never happen...LOL

Anyways, I have come to the conclusion that the 5D mkII will fit my needs better as I do not really do much sports or fast action but more portraits and landscape so now I need to come up with some extra funds...lucky me.

btw... if anyone wants to donate something for the better cause please let me know. LOL!!!

What camera do you currently have?

I cant wait until the 7D features trickle down to the XXXD range and by the time that happens I'll probably be ready to replace my compacts (2x400Ds). :D

I do love the machine gun shutter of my 1D though. :o

I have the 450D and love it.

I would love if they put the AF system and speed from the 7D in the 5D mkII but I don't think that going to happen anytime soon.

I know the 1D is the best of both worlds but yes my budget will not allow anything close to that. Hopefully someday when I grow up.

I have to say the ISO hack for the 400Ds make it a much more attractive option so I dont mind waiting for the next rev. If only they did a pancake 50mm for it - then I could ditch the P&S totally. :D

Apart from the FF sensor on the 5D and what appears to be marginally better low light capabilities I dont know if there is that much to differentiate it from the 7D.

I looked at the 7D again today. Looks really nice. The AF is quite nice too, as far as I could test it in T3 Dixons, at least :)

bwana, the 7D's AF is closer to what I've seen on the 1Dmk3. 5DmkII's AF is old (from the 10D) - I have no idea why they didn't update it.
