Hi, I am currently a Web Africa user and I have a 3GB IS adsl package. Now I noticed that I don't really use the 27GB local as much as thought I would because I already have a friend that is a member of one of the local torrent sites(names cannot be mentioned in public :D). With Hellgate London coming out in the next week, I'm going 2 play a lot more on international servers, before that I just usually play on local servers, css, war3, ET:QW etc. I have red that IS isn't the way 2 go with international so I'm looking at other options, Saix mainly. I know that WA and OW both has Saix accounts but is there really a difference weather it is WA or OW, its still Saix, am I right? or not. If its no difference I think I'll stick with WA, I'm very happy with their service. If I choose 2 change my account to a Saix one will it have any effect on my local games, or is that the same? Another thing, I see WA have this gaming enabled thing with Saix accounts?

PS: Before you reply, I have considered the local only IS account compared with the Saix international account and my dad doesn't understand what i mean by that but anyway he just wants 2 check his mail...

Any help will be appreciated :D

If you're considering an unshaped SAIX account from between OpenWeb and WebAfrica I doubt there's much difference between them, other than the service you'll get as in treatment and support from them.

An IS connection would be useless for internetional gaming, hell at the moment my IS connection is useless for anything internation related.

Tnx for the quick reply, and what about the shaped Saix, will that have the same outcome?

With shaped SAIX, your international latency will be about 300-400ms. With unshaped, it should be about 150-250ms. Verizon might be a bit less, but similar.

Compare with IS's international latency of 600-700ms. IS is also quite unreliable regarding consistent product performance.

Local latencies are all pretty much the same, and vary depending on how close you are to the server from about 10ms to 70ms.
