Okay, you get capped and you get capped, right now I am really capped. I have been trying to download important documents from my server in the states for the last 3 days. Some of the files are less than a MB, but I havent been able to get a single file down yet.

My downloads are going at a standard 6 Bytes per second. Sometimes it peaks at 7Bytes per second. These are direct http downloads.

What could be causing these extremely slow downloads? I mean this is slower than when I first got internet in 1992.

If it's not a network issue (unlike becuase I'm fine and I'm ALMOST ALWAYS CAPPED) then it's your signal. Strange as it is, signal is even more important for iBurst while capped.

But 6bs aye? I'm interested in how many wpm (words per minute) that is. Maybe you could retype them faster than they're coming through?

Hire two secretaries, one there, other here, have the there one dictate to the here one, and you should see an increase in transfer speeds... :D

Unicode characters are 2 bytes. So you're getting 180 characters per second. Word length is a variable, but think about it this way, you're getting the equivelant of about 1.2 SMS messages per second. Not too shabby! ;)

Hah! Reminds me of the days of 4800 modems, waiting in absolute agony for hours for a nudie pick of Samantha Fox (with silver stars at strategic locations) to download from some BBS server lol.
