Hi All

I have a 6 way switch which splits 1 single cable from my Dish ( communal ) to my HD PVR, i now would like to purchase a Explora, can someone explain how these switches work as I am sure I can just re-wire the thing?

Also I see that the Explora comes with its own switch, will that be required? I dont want to waste time with a installer as I think my setup will be very simple.

Hi,

How many decoders are connected after the switch?
The switch that came with the Explora can in some instances replace the current one. The explora switch combine the horizontal and vertical into one cable to the explora.

So depending on the current configuration, you need to chain the explora switch to the main 6 way one, or replace it.

Ill give more answers when I know the current config!

Kind Regards,

As long as you have a single lnb you will not be able to enjoy the full feature set of the explora nor the hd pvr. You need to install at least a dual lnb and I don't think the switch will be a problem.

It should just replace it, but take note of any network settings that are in your current decoder, these will need to be entered into the Explora
