628 Error

Hoping someone can help with this one.

Durban north. MDMA reports CellID as 30961
I am about 200 meters from a tower with direct line of sight and no obstructions other than a window between my k3520 stick modem and the tower.

About 3 weeks ago during the heavy rains we had, I noticed my 3G speeds drastically reducing. Now for the last week, whenever I set MDMA to 3G preferred, I get
Error 628 - The remote computer clsed the connection before a connection could be established.

If I set MDMA to GPRS/EDGE only it will connect fine. Using VMC just does nothing. vmc has a bit of a fit and shuts itself down when i try connect.

Any ideas?

I had this some time ago, there was a problem with my local tower. Have you reported this to 155?
What sometimes worked was connecting on 'GPRS/EDGE only' and then bumping it up to '3G only' once connected.

Hadn't reported it yet but will do so tomorrow. Just wanted to see if there was maybe something I had "fixed" that had caused this.

Oh well, its new years eve not bothered about it today.
