Hi All
I got all excited when i purchased a 64 gig flash drive to copy over content and plug into ps3 to find that the data copied over (avi's) read as corrupt on PS3.

I then checked the same files on XP, 7 and Leopard Snow and it all says correupt. So it cant be the PS3. How do i fix the flash drive or is it a dud?

HELP!

Try Quick-format it.

I have a 32gig flash drive, hate filling it up way to much time.

Sure its the real deal and not some knock off? The issues are symptomatic of knock-off flash drives, which normally are low capacity and sold as higher

You most likely have a fake drive. Check it's empty capacity - is it almost exactly 64GB (or more)? If it is, it is probably fake.

How much you pay for this 64gb flash drive - they normally quite expensive.

10 to 1 it's a fake - it looks like 64gb, but is only a 12MB.

best would be to copy a movie over - just one, and see if it plays off the drive.

then do another, and another, etc...

Did you format it with NTFS or FAT32? For such a large partition, it should be NTFS methinks.

I'm very sceptic myself of flash drives bigger than 4gb. Always think that they'll bugger up sooner than the smaller ones for some reason

Possibly fake China knock-off - try using h2testw v1.4 to run some tests and see what it gives you. The d/l link is just after the blurb...

64GB and FAT is fine, (many cards will not even allow NTFS).

Hi All
Sorry for my late reply....

So i have tested it with H2testw and guess what? only 2Gig available.... aaaaaaaaagh!

Anyway, i am going to use my 2.5" 640 gig however, it is NTFS.

If i format this to FAT32, will the whole 640 be vailable? Also, how do i format this to FAT 32?

Bummer - I'd take it straight back and demand a refund (not a swap), then go to a reputable store...

You will only get about 596GB usable space after formatting - I use Acronis Disk Director for my HDD formatting and conversions between NTFS and FAT32.
If using Win7, right-click on the drive in Explorer and select Format -> then select FAT32 from the drop-down box.
