I recently upgraded to Windows XP 64bit and now, not surprisingly, my modem driver isn't compatible. According to Sentech there are no drivers for my PCMCIA modem for XP 64bit. Does anyone know of a way around this or if the latest version of the PCMCIA drivers will work on this operating system? After spending the whole of last night searching for these modem drivers and getting extremely frustrated by the fact that this is not made available to us through official channels, I'm giving up! Apparently there were some available on the Unreal site but they are gone now. Can someone please mail me the latest version of the PCMCIA driver? I would greatly appreciate it! Or otherwise, tell me of a download location for these drivers... Thanks in advance.

I had a look at www.ipwireless.com and unfortunately there are no drivers available for download. I contacted them on [email protected] and hopefully will get a response soon. If I have any success in finding a official link for downloading updated drivers, I will post it here.

The last I heard, is that IPWireless didn't renew their contract with the company that wrote the device drivers. It's unlikely that you'll see a 64bit driver soon, without some development taking place first. Keep putting the pressure on [email protected] though, it's the only way to "convince" them to sort it out.

why would companies waste time and money making 64 bit drivers when microsoft themselves arent do there best to get the 64 bit version fully operational?

imagine what amd 64 bit cpu could really do on the right platform

I can sell you, through my suppliers, a fully operational version of Windows XP 64bit edition. It will be a while before major retailers start selling 64bit systems though.

64bit Windows have been available for about 3 months already.

If it was me, I'd get an Ethernet Cable and a cheapish router...

The Modem is PCMCIA. Do you get routers with PCMCIA support?

I decided to install XP Pro 32bit edition again. Once everyone catches up, I'll upgrade back to XP 64bit.

xp 64bit went gold, released to manufacturing at least 4 months ago.

If <insert supplier here> doesnt stock it, it is because of lack of demand.

It's on Rectron's pricelist for about 2 months already. That's where I first saw it.

yup when i phoned for a quote yesterday they said they had it

now if only i could get a 64 bit drivers for my dsl modem would help

I might be out of my league here, but, have you ever considered getting a (wireless) router or something and connecting to it via Ethernet, and just get the Ethernet cable for your modem as well – then the router will do the dialup and you’ll be connection via an Ethernet port?

Surely that should work just fine?

I suggested that on the previous page, but he's got the PCMCIA modem...
