Being capped is supposed to be dialup speed at the worst, the way my connection is going now its a miracle if a page even loads.

What the hell iBurst, turn down the rape-o-meter a bit my pillows full of teeth marks.

Damn the frustration of this all, the potential for decent internet is uncanny but it all gets held back by stupid morons trying to make money selling the same junk as everybody else. Why are iBurst capping traffic between ibursters???? The adsl boyz have got local internet to rape at full tilt so why should traffic between iBursters be turd? We could set up our own game servers, websites you name it and it wouldn't cost iBurst a thing!

We have all got so used to this capp nonsense, it's distgusting. As a society we are so stressed we can't even produce healthy psychotics capable of bombing Telkom and their fat fingers wrapped around the sat3 or iBurst and their arrogance to pretend to be a big player with only one call centre technician working (phone her, it's saturday and poor Shiela is winging it solo)

Man I hate to say it but the grass is definitely looking greener.
 
I agree... WBS has done something today... they read this forum and get ideas
p2p doesn't work AT ALL today! http and e-mail works full tilt as usual but helps me sweet-all!

The reason why they can't make it uncapped between ibursters is the limitation of the tower, it will degrade service for those who aren't capped.

but yea, i agree, companies forget where their income comes from...
 
When wireless networks are legalised all our problems will be a thing of the past
 
The towers aren't the issue, apparently upgrading them isn't a big deal - it's a software thing apparently and anywayz before the launch everyone was getting some love.
 
My speeds post cap are absolutely pathetic, I cannot understand what the hell iBust is doing! But they are pushing me further and further away. This is the last straw! I cannot check email , I cannot do internet banking, I cannot moan on this forum !

I took a look at sentech at a friends place and seriously I am impressed, sure it is slightly slower when we arent capped, but they are UNCAPPED and he can do all the above including P2P in the evening. 1meg speed is a BAD thing with only 3 gigs, I hit my cap in 24 hours and then I thought I would still be able to surf albeit slowly but this is rediculous! I would rather have a whole month of medium speeds instead of great speed for a day and then this! I would also like to use the internet as I wish (P2P etc). I was considering sticking it out with Ibust but my post cap speeds are absolutely horrendous, I wouldnt even call this being online!
 
Post Cap really needs work.....most times web pages won't open on the first go. I noticed a sudden burst when pages 1st load but 1 or 2 seconds after that speed drops close to 0.0kb/s and will maybe go up to 3kb/s. I'm sure it's a problem with the way they implement the cap. I would be very happy with a constant 7kb/s!!!
 
I am getting 1.5k/s for web browsing after the cap. iburst is telling bull sh*t.
 
There is a simple solution.
Get rid of your iburst
Adsl : You pay for 512 connection, you get 512.
 
**** i must be an old lady when using the net... i still have 2.4 Gb left of my cap :D
but then i very seldom use p2p at home... got a line at work to do that.

owell... when i was capped last month it wasnt bad at all. internet banking worked, email worked, surfing was slow but worked and i was using slsk with no problems at all...

Not bad - I'm doing well and hating every minute of it. I'd like to be listening to Radio Paradise right now, but am listening to my mp3's instead.

It's the 15th - I'm going to take it easy till the 20th and rack up 2.9 and then leech like a mofo ! :D
 
Its simple really - because post-cap is unusable - they want you to purchase the extra 1/3 gig's so they make more money. At the end of the day - thats what its all about. The theory about 64kbps is just to sell their product if you ask me (its not WHY i bought iBurst but it was one of the perks).

I mean really, its like saying you have ISDN (64kbps) even after you have hit your limit - who couldnt live with that (if it was true)?

Personally I think it is unfair and that they should at least make the internet usable (heard someone complain about not viewing sites/doing internet banking/downloading e-Mail). Im glad I havent hit my cap (on my 1st month still though) and I have daily usage statistics so that I make sure I dont hit the limit - but I can see myself hitting the cap soon! (its been hard restraining myself!)
 
If a bunch of disorganised monkeys like iBurst can scrape together a product like this, imagine what a proper company with equall rites could do. This cap rubbish is getting redundant and it's only a matter of time before the number of complainants reaches critical mass and all these brain dead, semi socialist governemnt excriment companies see their backsides. ooooh WBS did the lotto, whoopdy doo, state gambling at low fequency, here's a nobel prize, every bank's credit card machines could compete with that. 3 Gigs a month that can be p!ssed against the wall in a day, wtf iBurst you are an embarrassment to the country country, just like telkom.

And ps your music in the tech support que sucks ass
 
Yes, the music sucks, but I'd like to punch that annoying voice that tells you over and over: ''Did you know that WBS is the operator of the national lottery?''

Ag, it's still lekker to live in rip-off South Africa and use iBurst - I'm just worried that when we eventually get uncapped broadband in 2050, what are we gonna discuss on the boards?

We will be discussing the fact that the rest of this planet's inhabitants emigrated to another galaxy in 2030 & we were left behind bcos we were all capped & never received the email telling us about the change of plans...
 
guys, switch to ADSL and all you problems are over!!!

with ADSL: for R730 per month you get 10GB, for R930 per month you get 30GB!

with iBurst: for R600 per month you get 3GB shapped to such extent that it is useless for anything but web browsing!!!
