Howdy all, I'll be in the market for a new TV in Jan. I would like at least 65" size and must be Android based [so can ditch the external MiBox S]. After much research I've narrowed it down to two models, and I'm looking for any opinions on which would/could be a better choice;

a) Sony Bravia 65X9000H LED incorporating Android TV 9

b) Skyworth SXC 9800 OLED incorporating Android TV 10

I'm currently leaning toward the Sony even though it includes potentially inferior panel technology. My logic is as follows, it doesn't matter how good the display panel [tech] is, if the pixels its being fed are 'garbage'. Based on the availability of content [resolution] locally, a UHD TV will spend a lot of time upscaling content from 1080p or lower resolutions, hence the quality of the signal processing HW/SW is more important than the display panel technology itself. So even though the Skyworth comes with a LG OLED panel, its likely its Chameleon [fong kong] signal processor will be trash compared to the Sony's Bravia X-Reality, widely regarded as the best upscaling [& motion] processing on the market.

Both should be in the R25K -R30K price range, hopefully discounted lower in Jan. Also the TV will be used in a dark room environment, so ambient light or glare are not factors.

Sony all the way.

Top class image processing and great upscaling from Sony make it a winner. Not gonna get a better android TV for that price range IMO.

We got a Hisense with Netflix the other day.
I imagined that a show looked different on the built in Netflix Vs the mi box s Netflix.
Especially when the quality dropped a bit.

Was this my imagination?

With the Hisense built-in Netflix app you will experience far less micro-stutters compared to the Mi Box's Netflix app that plays all shows in 60hz while the shows are actually 23.976/24hz. Picture quality might be around 5% better too since it's more optimized for the tv's hardware.
But using the Netflix Kodi addon on the Mi Box and enabling frame-rate switching, it provides far better and smoother video playback than the Netflix Android app and the Hisense's built-in Netflix app since all content is played at the correct frame-rate. You should try it and compare.
In Kodi set:
Video Settings - Adjust display refresh rate - On start/stop
System - Display - Select all the resolutions in the Whitelist setting
