Hi all,
I've got an LED battery-powered rechargeable lantern from a number of years back, however the rechargeable batteries no longer hold charge when charging. After some testing, I've established that the 3 individual batteries are rechargeable 6v, with the 3 batteries joined in parallel.
As they are knackered, I decided to crack one open and found per the photos - anyone have any idea what battery type these are? There are no markings, other than the letters L and F on the top by the +/- terminals.
It also seems to have 2 holes at the top which had small rubber covers pushed on, making me think it was a gel-type or partially sealed-type battery. After cracking the one open, I see that it is totally dry inside, and seems to have alternating layers of white cloth-type plates with the metal electrode plates from the +/- terminals sandwiched between each layer - seems to have 7 layers in total...
Any suggestions as to the battery type - I've never seen these types before... hoping to either find a similar replacement or figure out another battery solution that will fit inside the LED lantern unit.
BTW, the measurement of each battery is 64mm x 35mm x 23mm - seems to have only soldered +/- terminals on each.
Searched a bit, but cannot find any information or similar looking battery.
