It's definitely not your fault. Thank you for the mention.

I appreciate it. For R102 more I managed to get a Tablet with double the features, an OTG cable and a cover, that's a pure bargain.

TakeAlot is selling the Proline below retail price as well and once their stock issue is resolved I believe this will be a hot seller. I just can't wait to get it, haha.

Yeah when I found it I kicked myself as I'd just bought a ainol from gadgets 2 go at the same price and it's not as well speced : -), still a great tab, friends of mine also want to now get the proline.

Isn't there an Asus at Hifi Corp for about R1k? Have you considered a Nook Simple Touch eink reader (with glowlight)? It is easy to root and runs full android - easier on the eyes. I have one - works well but more reader than tab

And 7in is a great size - I actually prefer it to 10in as it fits in one hand - nice when lying in bed.

Thank you to JP and Proline. I sincerely appreciate it. You guys are awesome. I am holding thumbs that I receive it tomorrow to be able to play a bit on Wednesday, but if I have to wait until Thursday, it's ok.

Thank you TakeAlot, Thanks Proline. Thank you JP.

Faith FULLY restored! :D

Edit: I received two phone calls from JP today confirming the upgrade today. Thanks alot!

Congrats, you lucky bugger. Hey JP do I get that price for recommending the tab; -)

I'm so jealous right now!
:D

Give us a nice review of the tablet when you get it, would be interesting to see how it performs.

Hi guys ;)

Well, I got the Tablet yesterday and I have Zero complaints.

I am really ecstatic with the overall product. The Tablet is perfect for my needs.

I had it on Wifi for a few hours yesterday and downloaded a few apps and I saw the battery level draining a bit, I charged it last night.
I loaded music on it today and customized it like I wanted to with a Live Wallpaper and Pin Lock screen with my name and details and what you have you.

The battery is not uber strong with media usage, but this will be mainly my eReader, with the Brightness set to how I have it the battery lasts ages while reading, so it's a win win and I can listen to music as well.

The GPU in it is sweet as well, loaded a game or two and it looks pretty cool.

TakeAlot and JP went out of their way to get it to me. They must have flown it from Cape Town to me, there is no way that it could have reached me by vehicle in 8 hours according to the tracking info on the site. I would just like to thank Proline & JP & TakeAlot once more, I sincerely appreciate it.

I've worked on Samsung Galaxy Tabs before with SSD drives and my Tab kicks their asses flat. From cold start it's less than 20 seconds and I am fully booted. This thing is a beast. I haven't had any performance issues so far.

I would like to get myself a Memory card though to store my music on etc. and keep it off the NAND flash, but I'll do that in future.

I am also having a bit of a squiz setting up my ZTE Modem with the OTG cable, the Tab wants to format my modem  I saw that I might have to use PPP Widget and use the Root user to use the modem, but I'll figure that out in time. At least I've got Wifi at work and I don't need to browse at home on the Tab, I've got my PC.

Thanks for everyone's help again :D ;) :p

Sounds pretty good, live wallpaper chows battery ;-).

You have clock speed on you side, at least 400MHz, although with dynamic clocking it is a smaller difference. The major differentiator is Jelly Bean, and to those still on honeycomb with their Sammys, it is like I have a new device.(P6200).

You have remarkable bang for buck with your device, and you have piece of mind with local warranty and customer service from Takealot.

I would guess the Proline AK-888 is a rebranded Chinese tablet? What is the original manufacturer name?
To check reviews & firmware support etc.

That's true, bang for buck that is. I can't complain, at all. I wasn't expecting the value (even before I got the free upgrade) for the price I paid.
Tablets always seemed way beyond my affordability.

Google Play reports the device as: Rockchip QPAD9700

I have the Proline Smart AK888-13, 9.7".
