Actually root is required. I know because I tried it on mine a few days back and it came up with a "root required" error.

Woops sorry, I forgot that I was rooted on my tab when I used it sometime back.
Anything else I can do to get the modem running then? As I'm not in the mood to root the Tab yet?

Doesn't sound right. To root an android device, someone needs to find a root exploit for it. Some Chinese tabs might be rooted out of the box, have you checked yours?

I want to get one of these, only thing im worried about is updates and being able to root it. Tera did you come right with your rooting of the device?

I bought an iPad on the FNB promo 18 months back and have considered swapping to an Android tab in 6 months - or earlier if thr bug bites. Looking st the tabs though ... Always seems to be something lacking?
Nexus 10 has an awesome screen but lacks 3G ... And it s dual core.
Samsung Note 10.1 has the quad core specs and 3G ... But has a low res screen which lets it down
