Not yet. I will play around a bit tomorrow and let you know what I find out. Update wise I am running a build from January 2013 according to the About in Android Settings. So it seems current.
My review remains constant as earlier mentioned.
Battery drains fast on media usage, gaming, movies, music an$d wifi, but lasts a good solid hours on reading. I haven't had the time yet to set the pace on Mantano Reader which I bought it for, but I've read a few hours on Olive Tree Bible App and on Mind Tools App as well.
The screen brightness is set quite low as I have eye sensitvity problems and can't take bright light, but the quality of the display still remains crisp and good and without any distortion or flickering. The display is of very high quaility.
I can't complain about the touch screen at all. I still have the plastic cover on it which it came with and the responsiveness with it is not lacking one bit. I've got a few games installed from Angry Birds to Cut the Rope and it performs well without a hitch as well.
My Tab had a loose volume button at the top which I noticed the first week, but I took the button out and added a small amount of prestick to it and stuck it back firmly. It looks neat and the button works without a problem. I don't want to go through the mission of sending it back and getting a new one and yada yada. I never use the physical volume button anyways, I use the touch based control to change volume in any case.
The accellorometer is by far the most fluent which I've seen on a Tab so far. It switches almost instant when I flip the Tab from side to side or angle to angle and there's no issue with it.
The Tab doesn't have any vibration sensors or feedback built in though, so for those that are going to look for it, should just take note of it.
Sleep, it sleeps long and without hassle and keeps the battery at a constant level without draining it too much if at all, maybe a percentage for a day or so of sleep.
If I had to pay the full price for the Tab and review it I would have peeve and that would be charging time. It takes a while to get up to a full charge and it seems it likes to chow into my electricity bill for some reason. I can't confirm it as of yet, but I normally pay X amount for my prepaid power and I had to topup today as I ran out of electricity. This I've confirmed by checking my meter as well and seeing that my units drop quite heavily after I got the Tab.
It might also be because I charged too much at the start when I got it initially. When it was 60% I would charge it etc. Daily and so on.
Feauture wise and App wise the Tab is doing exactly what I purchased it for and what it is intended to do. Yes I'd like to root it and hook up my modem, but I'll get there in future. For my needs and for someone that doesn't have a large bank roll this is a perfect device to get.

I have one too and its on its way back to the suppliers today.
The battery life makes it completely useless to me. From full charge the battery will be at 10% or below after watching one topgear episode!!
The headphone jack on mine didnt work either so that sucked when I was sitting on a plane wanting to watch some series but couldnt because the headphones didnt work.
Aside from that its a brilliant tablet, the screen is great its about the same as my ipad2.
The tablet is fast and very responsive with a great touchscreen.

If they were able to sort out the terrible battery then it would be an awesome tablet. If I left mine in standby then after 6 hours it would be on about 20% battery remaining. The charging also takes a really long time.

Sounds like you received a bad unit bro. Sleep (standby) issue sounds really weird. My tablet sleeps for days on end and it uses maybe a percentage of battery charge per day, definitely not as heavy as you said.
Media usage is a bit rough on the battery yes, but the Tab only has a 6000mAh battery installed, so this is to be expected. You can't go "bos" with it. Turn the volume down, quit running apps that you don't use, turn down the screen brightness etc. to conserve the battery juice and you'll see it lasting longer than it does.
All in your review is in line with mine. The charging time is a pain in my rear, that's why I use the Tab throughout the day at my leisure and when I go to bed I set it on charge and I fall asleep with it on charge, problem solved.

Yeah I hope its just a bad unit, its such an awesome device for the price.
I have an ipad and that sleeps happily for ages, I found I have to actually shut this tab down if I want it to have some power left when I need it. The startup is quite quick fortunately but its still a sucky way to use a tablet.

Electricity @ 1KWh is R1.18 or so. The charger is 5V at 2A or 12V at 2A. To consume a Kilowatt (and use R1.18 of electricity) would take 100hrs ( 1000/(5*2)) or 80-ish Hrs at lower effeciency. If it was 12V,2A that is between 35-42-ish hours to cost you R1.18. And this would be the hours charging, not the trickle charge where it is already charged and you left it alone without unplugging.
If you units are dropping heavily it is unlikely to be the tablet charger.
Thanks for the math breakdown and cost calculation Vis1/0N. I bought a new 2 point wall plug today as the previous one gave me more grey hairs than I have with the chargers getting loose and I'm wondering whether this could effect power usage?
Let's say a contact is not secure or connected properly and the current is not flowing constantly throughout the connection. Could this cause increased electricity usage?
Rocket Boy. I had the Tab on Standby again the whole day, 2 percent battery power used. Don't know why an extra percentage was used, but yes, definitely not as hectic as yours.
