7 boxes to check when getting your car serviced

Oil top-up – Extends the life of your engine.

How will you check this? You’d need to check it beforehand and compare it afterwards…and to verify it was actually changed is the job of doing it yourself.

Fuel injection system cleaning – Restore engine performance.

Nobody does this. And there’s no way to verify if they did.

Wheel alignment – Ensures a balanced ride and tyre wear, as well as better mileage

Most services don’t include this and very few dealers do it at all.

Brake inspection – Ensures safe driving by enabling your car to stop safely and immediately.

Rather check it BEFOREHAND and take photos so that when they try to con you and tell you that you need new ones you can tell them to bugger off.

Wiper blades inspection – Ensures a clear and unrestricted view of the road ahead in adverse conditions.

Also one of the biggest cons out there. Almost never actually need replacement and if they do just do it yourself for 1/3rd the money.

Keep them clean and they’ll go forever.

Tyre rotation and balancing – Prolongs the lifespan of tyres as it ensures even wear on the treads, which also equals a smoother, safer ride.

Again this isn’t included in most services as they don’t have the facilities.

List is rather silly.
