A friend of mine bought this tablet for herself. Last ight i tried to help her get her c to recognize the tablet so that she can copy stuff from the pc to the sd card in the tablet. Long story short for some reason it could not be done. I thought she was just being a girl but after a google search i found out android 4.1.1 does not have the option to set the tablet to mass storage mode.

Options.

I try to root the tablet, then i can install second party software and mount the sd. But then she will loose the guarantee
So i phoned Kalahari and apparently they will send out a OTA update to fix this
Is there any other way to get this to work without rooting the tablet? I have a feeling this will take a wile from Kalahari

Can she charge the tablet via USB?

Even though it will not connect in MSC mode, it should still connect in MTP mode. So check the settings.

Bought one for my daughter and it works fine when I connect it to usb. I copy files to it like it a flash-drive.
I can't recall for certain, but I think the tablet asked me the first time I connected it whether I wanted to use it as a storage device or some other options.

Edit: Is it just the SD card you can't access or the internal storage of the device as well?

All i get from windows when i plug the USB in is device not recognized

I'm home and so I checked quickly. When I connect the tablet to the PC, the PC says installing driver software and on the tablet a green android appears with a button on the bottom of the screen saying "Turn on USB storage". When you tap it, the image of the android turns orange and the PC recognizes the tablet. You can then access the tablet from windows explorer.

Edit: Pardon all the typos in my posts. It's been a long day.
