Local or international.
Currently using eztv, but not all shows get released in 720p by eztv.

You will need to search the forums for info about news servers, i can however direct you to www.giganews.com were you can buy monthly bandwidth to use on the international news servers.

normally within 2-10min after air, and sometimes even "pre-air", i think they faster than newsgroups
