7600GS vs. 7600GT

Which is better? Value for money wise?

I know the GT is a better spec GFX card but it's R2100 vs the R1200 for the GS.

However today I was told (and I dont know if this is just sales talk) that the GS is a very poor GFX card and not worth it at all. (Apparently the salesman was informed of this by his supplier!)

This has left me worried, should I spend the extra bucks or is the GS a safe bet?

ok hoss china firstly i dont know where you are buying your stuff from but i can tell you now the 2199 for a 7600gt is a rip off china big time


there is a such a huge a different between the two i think, i owned both and a big difference

but the gs is still a very good card, i could run bf 2 with everyone medium and 2 x AA on a full 60 plr server and it coped

it depends what games you want to play but the 7600gs will cope with all the latest games on medium 1024

that 7900gs is the boss of low end cards

i have one and now i run bf 2 high 4 aa and 8 x af

why is there a GS card for R2299?

7900 GS has 20 pixel processors, 7 vertex processors, 256-bit memory bus
7600 GT has 16 pixel processors and 128 bit memory bus.

if you have the cash buy 7900gs

but shock will tell you to wait for january where a8800gt will be around 2k with dx 10 so maybe hold out for a couple of months if you can

7600GT is uncomparible to a 7600GS. The GT kills the GS by far. Wait for DX10 midrange, buying a DX9 card now is just as good as shooting yourself in the foot

Well, I'm pretty poked at the moment. Blew my motherboard last week and the only decent replacement I found supports PCI Express (I have a AGP Card, but i was told buying AGP supporting motherboard is a bad move)! So for now I'm using the onboard graphic's; so no gaming!!

Now I really don't know what to do? buy now or wait? gs or gt? (gt it seems) but what about dx10????? Arrrrgh

depending on the kinda games you run just the gt and save rather

who knows that directx 10 dont come out 12 months from now

My 7600gt 590M arrived 2day!

Must say could save even more on the card if these xfx guys didn't use all this crazy packaging

ya i would be happy to get my vcard in cardboard box and it be cheaper than the nice packaging

but then it wouldnt look pretty and ppl might buy a different brand
