I've looked around on google and I've found a few boards :
jetway HA06
gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H
780g boards

There are a few others (foxconn, dfi ...) that are developing 790GX boards.
So far these are the only boards that have 2x grapgics slots for crossfire and
use the SB700. But I cant seem to find them here even though some offshore sites have them for sale (780G boards).

I'm trying to setup 2x HD3870 Sapphires cards with one of these boards if only I could get a hold of them :(. The idea is to attach my display monitor to the onboard graphics, then when not playing any games the board should switch off the dedicated graphics. AFAIK this seems to be a feature of the 780G chipset boards I've seen reviewed around the net, but I'm hoping it will work for a crossfire setup :)

Does anyone have a link or know where you could possible order them:confused:
Does anyone think this idea will accually work? (damn I hope so, would be awesome)

Advice: TOTALLY disregard Jetway. Try Rectron for an approved reseller for the Gigabyte board.

I wish I could find a retailer that sold DFI boards, they are awesome.

The SAPPHIRE HD3870 X2 is abit more expensive the getting 2 seperate cards, and my PSU has 2 seperate power connectors for the cards :)

Its more about the boards then the cards accually.
www.computersonly.co.za, check out the radeon card prices.

How much are you paying for a single 3870? You can get the 3870X2 for R4400 from www.prophecy.co.za . That is also an overclocked card with custom cooling.

The 3870X2 comes standard with higher clocks than a vanilla 3870, and it beats a CF setup of 2 3870's in benchmarks. Unless you're paying quite a bit less than R2200 for a 3870, it's definitely not worth it going for CF.

Oh, and I haven't seen the new SB700 boards in SA either, I'm waiting as well.
