7900 GTX

That card suck compared to soemthing like a 4850 :), i'm guessing even a 4650 will give it a run for its money, i know the 9600gt which is 1.4k will smack that something silly :).

Then I need to change my selection :D

Yeah.

If your bugdet is x get x

R1500-> 9600GT

R2500-> 4850

R3500-> 4870

R4500-> 4870 and buy games with the extra cash

R5500-> 4870 buy games with R1000 and use the other R1000 for a down payment on the 5850 when it comes out.

So the 4870 is the best bang for your buck I take it then ?

Then what is up with all these R 6+ cards ?

Purely for epenis.

The 4850 is actually best bang for buck, it's just that there's no reason for anything higher than the 4870. 4870 is also great bang for buck.

That processor won't be able to keep up with the 4870. Maybe just the 9600GT.

Oh well. At least you'll have upgrade room. :)

You could just oc the cpu though.

O yea sweet than go for it, how much do you have to spend?

I'm planning on building a Mother PC whne I get my share money in January.

Till then I'm just playing on my old machine. But this is what I have in mind for January.

The same mobo with the Duo core 1.88
Tower with a 750w PSU.
Bigest badest GFX card I can find which is not over priced.
4x 500GB HDD's
4GB RAM
Blu-ray player
DVD+rw

22" Samsung screen :eek:

That should be an OK, to start off with

I got that Mobo as a gift with the CPU so I will not replace it. Maybe just build an entry lvl gaming rig and then build a complete new one from scratch ?

That's a very good idea. Plonk a 9600GT in there and you have a pc for the wifey. :D

Or kids.

Awesome idea,

and in the spirit of me receiving this mobo for free I would then like to forward my old Mobo and CPU to a kind recepient. I would like to give it to someone on here who can't afford a running "Gameble" PC for his/her kids.

So we'll see how it goes once I get that share money :o

My current rig is a 3.06 Celeron with 1GB RAM and a 256MB GFX card. But I can't get that bloody card to work, I'll give it to someone else to see if they can salvage it :)

I bought a nicely overclocked second hand 7900gt recently for R600. Actually if you are running an e2160, you can't even really make full use of an 8800. I would consider getting one of those second hand now, you can get for about R1000. Then hold onto that till you can afford to upgrade everything in one go. You should be able to get R8-900 by the time you sell it back anyway.

Ok

If all goes well, looks like I got hooked up with a Gainward 7600GT 256MB till January :)
I know it's not much but it will atleast be able to play some games I have and keep me busy till January. Now I'l all excited again. Will change the Mobo's around tonight.
