Today my son bought 7500 credits at a cost of about R1400 while playing GT racer on the galaxy tab . Sneaky blossoms. I know .... I should've known better. I do buy a few apps on the android market via google wallet.i have my cc details on my gmail account. Besides deleting my card details every time I buy an app is there another security measure I can put in place. Like a password before I hit buy.keeping the tab to myself is not an option.

lol... I guess sometimes you have to learn the hard way :p

Yeah in the Settings part of the Android Market/Play Shop you can set it to require a pin when making a purchase :D

You definitely learn the hard way sometimes. A friend of ours had her son download R5000 worth of flash games off 3G a while ago...

Thanks. PIN set. I'm not big on games but might as well enjoy this one . Its the most expensive game I've ever had. :o

hahah this sucks, but now we are more aware that we should put measures in place, to save ourselves 1.5k or more :P

Explain to him (try to make him understand though) that he shouldn't have done that and figure out a way for him to "work it off". I think this is more difficult seeing as he's 8yo, but I think you get the idea.

I did. Problem was the purchases was done in game through menu options . He didn't understand that u paying with "real" money. As far as downloads go , he always runs to me first when something pops up ( grade 3 reading ) but in game he just clicks away.

Little bastard did it again. Vodacom just phoned, he incurred a R15'000 bill on his Blackberry this month. This would obviously have been using a non-BIS apn application.

Hey, it's something to remind him of when he has his 21st or gets married :D

I'm sure you can weave it somehow :3

That is part of my hate for in game purchases, esp the fact that you can pay waaaay more than what it should ever cost.

Example:
I bought GT Racing http://www.gameloft.com/smartphone-games/gt-racing-motor-academy/ for only R20 via the wap store and I have access to everything, no need to unlock jack or pay for anything, hell there is not even an option in my game vs your R1400 on http://www.gameloft.com/smartphone-games/gt-racing-motor-academy-free/ and I am sure once the credits is done you still have to fork out more.

The Publishers know this thats why they push the free crap lately, its like the old drug dealer rules, 1st hit is for free, after that its go for broke.
