Hi guys!

I'm looking at my option for 80GB+ MP3 players, like the iPod Classic.

It should be as small as possible (the size of the iPod Classic about) and should only be able to play mp3's, no need for any other functions.

Thx! :)

How about getting the iPod Classic?

I'm thinking about it. But the retail price is still quite high (R3199 is the cheapest for the 120GB) and was wondering if there's isn't any other available players on the market?

Locally...ipod would be the best.

The accessories available for ipods far exceeds that available for other mp3players (both locally and internationally).... esp locally where you wont find many zune etc accessories at all. Also support locally is non existent for zunes.

You're just looking for a mp3 player no need for extras such as wifi etc, ipod classic fits what you need perfectly

I gotta agree, I had a sniff around and that will be by far my best option!

Thx for the info HaNsA, you made up my mind!

Ta

hehe yeah i did a bit of research myself before buying the classic 120gb. Friend of mine bought it from USA tho...so i had to decide between the zune and ipod ...not an easy decision to make ;)

I did come across that ipodworld site when looking for accessories...theyr prices are very good but i havent bought anything from them so wouldnt know if they're good.

I'm quite a fan of the Zune. Also Archos make some great players but they're mostly for movie watching and that sort of thing. The Creative Zen Movie(?) is a bit brick-y for my taste. Well my choice is the Zune. I love the firmware, the interface is better than iPod, great clickwheel.

WHat i said above as well as the zune cannot simply be connected to any PC as a external hdd like the ipod, you need to install the software etc, can be problematic when using pc's other than your own.

I do agree that its a great player, though in the end i decided on the ipod.

The newer iPods can't be connected as external players either - or for that matter even another PC with Itunes. They're enslaved to your own PC's sync list.

I'm going to get myself an iPod via ebay. I must say, there's some amazing specials running! So it's worth a shot, wil let you guys know!

What do you mean?

Well....someone correct me if i'm wrong actually I'm just going on what someone told me, I don't have an iPod. But i was under the impression that 4th gen ipods would ONLY sync with one PC's iTunes, nothing else. So you can't use it as an external HDD to transfer files etc etc. I know at least it's how the Nanos work.

Ok, my one buddy will be visiting family in Australia, so he'll probably be able to bring me an iPod Classic 120Gb for about R2200! :-)

Ta for the help guyS!
