8520 Trackpad freezing

Update your OS, you don't have to use an official Vodacom/MTN one, just use anyone issued by any network. OS5 is available for your device so upgrade already.
EDIT: Just read the thread you linked to, it looks like it's a hardware issue in which case take it back to your network for a replacement (beware MTN take 6 weeks to do this, Vodacom up to 3). It's disappointing to hear trackpads are breaking down, they were supposed to replace those very faulty track balls that the rest of us are stuck with.

I will take it back to Vodacom tomorrow, thanks. Had it for about 4 months, and freezing time, increasing, over last few days, sometimes up to 2 hrs.... eish

ok some feedback. Dropped the phone off at Longbeach Vodashop. Got a brand new replacement within 7 days... good service
