Im currently running a 8800 GTS 320 and while it was a good card its a bit long in the tooth. I can get a second hand 8800GTX for around R600. I wonder if its worth doing or should I just keep the money and save to invest in a ATi 4890 or 5850 which is about R2200 and R3200 respectively. Quite a bit more money. Its just at that prices I wonder if its not worth investing in a Playstation 3. | game at 1920 X 1600 and mostly first person shooter and adventure type games. Perhaps use 1 of the cards for PhysX?
Any thoughts?

R600 is a fair price, provided you have a PSU that's good enough. The 8800GTX is still a decent GPU, on the level of a 4850 or so and quite a bit faster than the 8800GTS 320. The only problem is that it's fairly old, consumes a lot of power and might make some noise. Otherwise yeah.

Gaming at 1920 you'll really want to save up for something better. Although for r600 an 8800gtx is still a very nice deal. Maybe you can buy it so long and use it for Physx. I don't know you've thrown a lot on the table :)

NO. Rather save the money toward a new ATI card. I'm not a big fan of ATI due to Linux support but if you are using Windows it's the way to go.

Many games will run at 1920x1200 with the 8800GTX, only the most demanding ones won't.
