A previous post of mine here was a call for help regards a 30GB+ movie file that would not open.
I eventually gave up & deleted it,
Subsequent to than, many others have been created using the very same settings.
These all played perfectly.

Yesterday a 4.5GB movie file was created - and cant be opened / played.
Directly afterwards I thought I would create more files of different sizes, using the same settings & see what happens. Anything over 4GB will not open / play.

I spoke to an apple engineer (not techie), who told me there is some kind of size limitation within QuickTime when it comes to creating a movie file using certain codecs - and massive amounts of software used to create movie files
do in fact have QuickTime components within them.

Exactly how accurate his entire statement may be - I dont know.
But, as I have discovered the hard way, there is without doubt some kind of limitation (probably within EvoCam - used to create my files).

People from Evocam I am afraid were not too helpful:
"We're not aware of any way to recover these files. Sorry..."
