So, I am with 8ta on contract - voice. Bought the dvb-h extension headset for my N8 to watch dstvmobile at Makro. Phoned dstv to activate only to be told that 8ta is not supported ???? WTF ?? I am a dstv premium subscriber... Why can't they or won't they send me the key files when I'm on 8ta ? Can't even select the "free" enews while my 8ta sim is plugged in...

I'm guessing here...

DSTV belongs to Multichoice, which belongs to NASPERS.
MWEB belongs to NASPERS.

8ta belongs to TELKOM.

MWEB and Telkom do not peer with each other.

Point is, It is not costing Multichoice a cent... If I bought a drifta and played it out to my ipad I would have been able to watch mobile... for free... Why not if i'm with 8ta - via cell ?

I agree with you, it is puzzling.

Can you not download the files elsewhere?

Or ask them to send it to another address and then transfer them to your N8?

/watching with interest as I'll be in the same boat once they sort out the Android issue!

This sounds stupid. As the DVB-H signal is independant from the network signal, I cannot see why it matters on which network you are connected.

Get yourself a prepaid sim from another network, and after registration just change to the 8ta sim.

They need to send you the RIGHTS ( keys ) via the network... Yes, If I swop my sim I can watch mobile tv but if I change my sim back to 8ta - cheers..... ***** mutichoice, they are useless...
