8ta double airtime deal question

Siyya, once you understand it, you will see there is good value when you buy bundles with your non-free airtime.

Furthermore, when I buy a 25MB for R15, only R12 gets deducted. So the bundles are slightly cheaper than advertised.

(Note that the other operators also confuse consumers with all their different price plans.)

Thanks for this info.

Hello, the "go big" promotion is ending soon, what will be the difference if i buy a normal 8ta sim and spend R200 on 1gb. Will i get another R200 that i can spend on another 1gb.
Also with a normal sim will i get the same speeds?

Basically what he is trying to tell you, you can save R900 instead of loading the full value of R1800, load R900 and receive R900 free airtime but transfer that airtime to "roam 8ta only" that will mean you have to transfer R50x36 days :) but it seems like 8ta will close that loophole now

You are now referring to the 60+60 special, but I want to correct a few things:
1. You must load R1800 of airtime, but you can spread it out over a number of weeks.
2. You will receive R1800 of free airtime that you must use within 7 days of loading it on calls and SMSs (no bundles).
3. You can transfer up to R50x10 = R500 per day to your "roam 8ta only" sim also called "Prepaid PSB Data Promo" sim. So you can transfer the whole R1800 in 4 days.
I don't consider the about points a loophole and I seriously doubt that 8ta "closed" it.

One correction according to an earlier response from the team (assuming this quiet 'extra' has not been shut down now that we've all started talking about it!): the transfer limit is not R500 per day, but R2,000 per month. As long as you are prepared to transfer at R50 a time maximum, you can send as many transfers as you like until you hit that R2K limit. That's what they said, anyhow. I managed to transfer the R1800 I needed for the 60+60 promotional deal in one day, no worries.

Can anybody confirm whether it's still possible to transfer the free airtime to another sim?

Tried it last night and it says my balance is R0.00 but I still have the R50 free airtime when I dial *188#.

Pity. I was going to put it to the test tonight. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm convinced that it was never possible.

I was able to confirm on Wednesday that it's still possible to transfer the non-free airtime. Once again I wasn't able to transfer more than R500 in one day.

+1 - I agree fully that it was never possible to transfer the free airtime as it clearly states on their website that it isn't possible.

Also noticed that you are ONLY allowed to transfer R500 per day and maximum allowed per month is R2000. Did receive my free R1800 airtime making a lot of phone calls, coming in handy saving extra bucks.

If anyone is interested in purchasing airtime PEP sells R100 airtime for R95 :) saved R90 buying R1800 airtime.
