8ta on Afrihost device

How do i go about using my 8ta sim on this device.

I tried the following

Created new Profile with "Internet" as the APN

For some reason the modem is only connecting to MTN network i think, i tried connecting manually to 8Ta but it still did not work

did you try "internet" in lower case?

I've used my 8ta sim in it without changing any settings.

If you using it on the freely supplied MiFi device I am pretty sure this would require you to change the profile?

I don't recall doing that. I switch between them without changing settings.

It goes to mtn roaming. This might be because there is no 8ta signal where I am? Let me test in another area

The problem is low network signal.

Works out of the box for me, no need to change any settings whatsoever, works on CELL C, 8ta, etc.

If you have weak signal, do yourself a favor and invest in an antenna R400 only, u can purchase them from SPACETV down the road from CBD.

What signal reading are you getting from your phone with the 8ta/telkom mobile card.

I tried to create a new profile with "internet" as the APN in my afrihost mifi modem, but for some reason, I cannot save it. The browser becomes unresponsive! I updated the mifi firmware when I got it and I think, it doesn't allow to create a new profile after a firmware update!

I'm also using an 8ta sim in my device without any problems. I just created a new profile with "internet" as the APN and saved it. I did take about 20-30 seconds to save the new profile
