Now I'm baffled, I have an 8ta sim card but it still logs on to Mtn. I'm in Kalk Bay why is this? and what must I do?

You are roaming. 8ta and Telkom Mobile SIMs* uses MTN network to roam if there isn't Telkom Mobile coverage.

*The new SIMSonke prepaid SIMs don't roam and work only on Telkom Mobile network.
