8th gen accord - rust issues, other common faults, etc.

Hi all. I am looking for a decent family sedan and have found a good deal on a 2009 accord 2.4 manual. After doing some research I have found some scary threads regarding rust around the sunroof that lead to a recall being done in UK and US. Seems to be the 2009 models specifically. Can anyone confirm whether our Accords have those same issues and if Honda SA did the same recall?

I steered clear of the civic type r in the past due to rust concerns as I stay in a complex and therefor park outdoors for now ;(

Any other comments on these cars are also welcome.
 
Yes I am aware of that recall. It is easily checked on their website using the VIN.

I called one of the local honda dealers and they have never heard of the rusting sunroof issue.

I went to look at a 2.4 exec on friday afternoon. 2009 Model, and found rust around the entire sunroof. I also checked with a friend who owns one, and he confirmed he has a small amount of rust on his sunroof as well.

Such a pity as I like everything else about the car.
