Valcke also took a swipe on critics of the Adidas Jabulani ball. The ball has come under heavy criticism from players of some of the 32 teams to participate in the World Cup. The latest being Brazil striker Luis Fabiano, who has described the ball as "weird" and Valcke pulled no punches in his response.

"It’s a ball used which has been used by a number of teams for months since the ball was put on the market by Adidas. It’s Brazil who say that. Because they are afraid that they will not make it and it’ll be due to the ball. If Brazil win the World Cup playing with this ball it won’t be a problem anymore! The teams are going to play with this ball and good luck to Brazil," Valcke added.

Not sure if you are meaning today is 8 days or yesterday was? If the latter then refer to my post below where I feel all "official" countdowns are actually wrong

By the way, I am basing it on my ability to count. Most countdowns now are saying 9 days... but I fail to see how that works out.... let's look at the days of the month below from the 1st to the 11th (kick off)

2 June 9 days to go
3 June 8 days to go
4 June 7 days to go
5 June 6 days to go
6 June 5 days to go
7 June 4 days to go
8 June 3 days to go

They use hours too, so I assume that is what throws out their numbers.
