When does it become worth it to actually get 95? What kind of engine type actually benefits from it?

As I understand it some of the more premium cars don't even take 93, and lower class cars won't really know the difference.

2 more octane chains WOW! not worth the extra cash though :p

How much is 95 compared to 93?

My fuel cap says 98-95 :wtf: and i use 93...poor 77HP engine.

You know the price of petrol is high when people start asking questions such as this. :D:D:D:D

yup, I had to buy a 25l can of methanol yesterday, R350

not sure how much the octane goes up by but my guess would be around 110 or so when mixed with the fuel

3l of methanol lasts me about 2000km

Only the best for a Delta Motor Corporation of South Africa Opel Monza 160i GSi Car of the Year 1991?

what has that car got to do with this thread?

That car has to do with every thread. Duh.
and if you're mixing 3l of methanol into 200l of petrol, you're probably raising the octane by the equivalent of the trade value of your car - ie, fokol.

*sigh*

so every time I post people are going to derail a thread, this sounds like fun

what makes you think I would be mixing 3l of methanol with 200l of petrol?

10 Percent addition will give an Octane increase of about 5 points. For example 95 Octane can be increased to 100. You should not add more than 10% of methanol.

You said 3l of methanol gets you 2000km. I'm working on an estimate of 10/l100km, therefore 200l.

I just add 500 ml of diesel to 90L of petrol dunno what it does but cleans the gunk off the V8. and 93/95 makes no difference . I just adjust the carbs.
