I hardly ever listen to the radio past 6pm. Last night i heard Ryan Seacrest on 94.7.

Since when does he have a show on 94.7? Why bring an american to do a show for a Gauteng radio station?

Have we run out of Dj's?

I didnt get to listen to much of him, mostly music played. Is he any good?

but how does he do it cos he actually mentions the radio name when he is on air and how does he cope working for so many stations

Say the following out loud:
You're listening to ninety four point seven highveld stereo.
Now say:
You're listening to the Alabama Slammer stereo whammer.

How long did that take?

Now, imagine how many of these you could do in an hour.

Throw in a good editor and you can script up 40 shows really quickly.

Yeah he probably only had to read all the radio station names once and then they use a computer to insert it into the broadcasts for each radio station. You probably find we actually hear a recording that was done the day before as the 10 hour difference in time from LA will make it difficult to have him live on alot of radio stations in the intended time slot.

BTW on Kfm in he says you are listening to Cape Towns no 1 radio sation Kfm. And not highveld like you probably hear in Josey.

Why have a syndicated show on 94.7? Its supposed to be Joburgs No.1 Hit music station, and thus should have a local dj.

They probably think we want to listen Mr Seacrest (improve ratings and therefore more advertising cash) and buying a syndicated show is probably cheaper than paying a DJ, producer etc. Win Win for the radio station.

But that is just guess work. If it upsets you then you should probably complain here:

Doesnt upset me really. I hardly listen to the radio at that time. Just seems odd having an american dj broadcasting out of america for a joburg station.

They also used to have the syndicated Billboard Top40 on Highveld with an old American dude.
Btw. What happened to the World Chart Show?
