Heard Apple dropped the iPhone 3G price to $99. Will we ever see the iPhone here for say a R100 contract?

The $99 is just the pay in, not the contract price I believe.....I spoke to a chick from the states the other night, she was in fact one of the IPL cheer leaders :D, and she says that contracts are just as pricey there. You prob find its $99 pay in and then R300 odd a month.

I see they have dropped the 1. Was advertised at $99.00 and now is $199.00

Next time check the forum before starting a thread like this. :D The subject has been addressed by Shake & Bake and myself to the ends of the earth. Stop believing things are better in the states. THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE BECAUSE THERE IS MORE SHYTE ON THE OTHER SIDE. I have a Vodacom Business Contract R330 pm for 24 months with a ZERO pay in total cost of the Iphone R7920 still cheaper than buying a new one retail. So either cough up the contract price or stick to your Blockia, Samsmut or other so called SMARTPHONES :D

Things are greener and please don't discourage people from asking. That's one of the few ways that pressure is put on service providers ;)

Me thinks you're afraid that Joe Public is going to get a better deal and rub it in your virtual face. :erm:

Please the grass is NOT greener and since when did service providers EVER bow to the pressure of consumers. Cars, bread, sugar and everything else has stayed the same or gotten worse since "deregulations" so dream on. You have a choice between 4 mobile providers 2 of which we all know fix the price of calls and everything else related to there sphere of intrest. South African consumers dont complain we mumble and moan on forums like this and evenings in the pub. So companies never takes us serious. If joe public can get a better deal than I did. More power to him.

/changes name to Joe :D

EDIT: And it takes a while, but there certainly is enough evidence of service providers bowing to public pressure because of these forums. (Not limited to Cellular Providers)
