Every time I travel overseas, I like to compare our broadband offerings to what is available in other countries.
While we all know that the US and Europe have vastly superior offerings to SA, it is really scary to visit a place like Malaysia, which is quite similar to SA in many ways (Affirmative Action, developing market etc..) and to see the diffrence that a forward looking government policy can have.
LLU is a fait accompli, and there are various services available from DSL to Cable to Wireless (including 3G, but no HSDPA yet AFAIK). The scariest thing is the prices:
FTH 2Mbps to stand-alone house (apartments are cheaper):
FYI: RM1 = ZAR 2.08
