To the ANC Government, DoC, ICASA & Telkom:

Today I had an epiphany and write this a changed man. You see, until this morning I have been one of your fiercest critics and have done every teeny tiny little thing I could to hasten the end of the crippling prices of broadband connections and data in this country.

Then it struck me! We are not so different you and me. There I was thinking all along we were like chalk and cheese when in reality we want the same things. I am a privileged white who benefited from the apartheid era and can afford these exorbitant prices (although I don't like to spend more than absolutely necessary) but hey, I now see your strategy and I like it! Your perceived inability to lower costs, introduce effective competition and open the the floodgates of information is really just you keeping the black masses out the loop, uninformed and in sheep mode. After all, information is power and neither you nor I want them to have that. No Sir! Could you imagine the consequences? They would see through your plans to keep them intellectually enslaved and towing the party line while us rich whites would be in serious trouble too, not this pretend trouble that makes it look like you are getting your revenge on us which in turn makes them even happier and longing for the day they can make that big X next to your names again. Goodness gracious, the few little differences you and I have pale into comparison to this monumental piece of Common Ground I have just discovered we have.

So I will still pretend to be up in arms about telecoms and broadband and all that waffle and In the meantime you Comrades up there in your Power Towers keep up the good work, and let the rich get richer and the poor stay uninformed, uneducated and working for us.

Your Friend in prosperity

very very true

Now if only you had told me this earlier - then I wouldn't have had to undergo my last lobotomy in my efforts to fit in with the current political regime.

A politician is an ex-activist tamed by the power of Moolah.

When they had nothing (no power, no money) they fought for the rights of the poor and marginalised - but when they graduate from the acadamy of Moolah they are hardline Moolahians, collecting directorships and stocks in line with their master's teachings.

Ah, a good laugh (exactly what was missing.) :D

JBFRobisher: nice sig :D

My name is Dikbek and I am a reformed Telkom hater. You have shown me the error of my ways and I am now a reformed induhvidual and embrace the ways of the master.

Funniest thing I read in ages.
Same thing can be said for AA.
We ex-apartheid few just complain so the rest of the previous ly disadvantaged may think that AA works.
Meanwhile we get richer and a few fellow "comrades" gets rich with us.
The rest?
Fluck them.
