So im upgrading somethings on my pc ive got a 3k-3.5k budget, need cpu ram mb nd gpu, sooo i am leaning towards the fx-4100 because of it "4 -cores" and a MSI 970A-G46 mb with corsair 4gb vengeance ddr 3 1600 ram and a gigabyte hd 6770 which is around R3400(all from rebeltech), Now i know somebody is going to say get the i3-2100 but thats a dual core (processes better then the fx i know) but is it going to last me say....4 years or 5? Will dual core still be the recommended? Or minimum? Is programs going towards multi-thearding or sticking to single threading? Im mostly going to play games with a few video edits, i ask for all input if you know of something better let me know i was hoping to get that setup and get a 2nd 6770 later to crossfire or id get 2x7750 im trying to future proof, or... should i wait till trinity comes out? Get one of those and then i can dual graphics a series7000 hopefully? My pc broke so sooner will be better, i heard the 2nd gen fx is am3+ so id still be able to upgrade to one of those unlike llano>trinity, i have a mac still so i have my internet just no games i could survive till trinity comes out i suppose...but what do you guys say? I know its long lol sorry..

First of all, an FX-4100 will not last you 4 or 5 years, an i7 2600K (R2800 each) will last you around 3-4 years before you have to upgrade again, the only CPU's that will last you 4-5 years are the i7 3930K (R5 500 each) and the i7 3960x (R10 000 each). For your budget range I would suggest an AMD APU - 3870K along with a 6670 to crossfire with the APU's integrated 6670. But best bet would be to wait for Trinity to release and then build your PC.
