Criticisms
Stupid, idiotic business practice.
Adverts are mostly 'WTF?'
Is there a clear market position they aiming for? Console/Supercomputer/Media player?
Excuses
Could learn a HUGE amount from Nintendo and Microsoft w.r.t Business Practice.
Commendations
Sexy glossy look
Slot loading
Reliable - so far
Does everything I need - well.
No monthly/yearly subscription to play online - so far.
Xbox360/Microsoft
Criticisms
Plastickey look - Personal feeling
Shape of console - Again, personal
DVD Tray - I have a phobia on these (don't like these thing protruding..)
HDD - Lack of customisation (upgrade please aka SATA?)
Live! Why not make it free to play, but pay for other things?
Arcade no HDD? At least give it a it smaller one... (20GB)
Commendations
Live is mature - clearly.
Price is reasonable.
Starting to solve the RROD issues (through new SKU) - reliability is up
Sound Business Practice LOL at Sony.
Adverts make sense. Done well, and you actually see them on TV...
As I say, these are my rants and so on.
Please don't take it as flamebaiting and fanboi-ism.
This topic mainly originated from the senseless fanboi ranting and raving.
What you see above is what I think.
Despite the few criticisms I have on the PS3 - I still love it.
That being said, I also really like the Xbox360.
The point I'm trying to make, is that although I criticize the Xbox360/Microsoft, I'm not being irrational (apart from my own little hic-ups).
The post above serves mainly as a reference as to what I think each manufacturer and improve upon.
I just wish the fanbois would try be as objective as above when commenting on other consoles..
