So I have a Garmin NUVI 1310 which does not (very frustratingly) allow me to import custom routes that I have made in Mapsource.

However, the NUVI 14xx series will so I wonder if its not possible just to install the 1410 firmware onto my NUVI and in so doing, doing a 'soft convert' from a 1310 to a 1410?

Any ideas floating around?

I have a problem with wrong speed warnings on my Nuvi 1300... It gives me 80km/h warnings on 120km/h routes thinking there is still roadworks... How do I fix this?

No, it is not possible. Also, if you look at the specs on the Garmin website, you will see that the 1310 cannot accept any routes, but the 14xx series can accept 10 routes. Remember, research 10 times, buy once!

You will most probably have to update the map on your device. Do you have the GARMIN City Navigator installed, or the GARMAP Streetmaps installed? The latest version for the GARMIN maps is City Navigator Southern Africa NT 2013.1, and the GARMAP latest version is SSA Streetmaps 2012.1 NT.
