For many years I have used the simple "Password Pal" utility to manage & store passwords.

I have thought of trying a different password utility, and KeePass seems to offer what I need. But on their website there are two versions, i.e.
Classic Edition KeePass 1.23
and ..
Professional Edition KeePass 2.19

Both seem to be free to download & use, but what are the differences between the above two KeePass utilities, and what can the experts here recommend?

Or is there another password utility that is better? My security needs are not onerous ... This is for my home PC that only I & my SO have access to (as separate users, and I am the Admin user).... and my SO does not need to know or access my log-on details for my 'password-required' sites like my banking / investment accounts / insurance policies, etc.

I've been using 2.x for a while now it have not had any issues. It integrates with FireFox and Chrome via Plug-ins and if you like you can share your database accross devices using dropbox. Android and iOS have KeePass apps.

I use Password Safe [designed by security expert Bruce Schneier].

I keep the repository in a Dropbox folder: that way I gain access at both home & work

I have been using LastPass, but I would no longer recommend it.
The thing turns itself off more often than not, so that it is pretty much useless.
You basically have to log in with the Master Password every single time you have to enter another password. :(

I use LastPass. The only time I enter master password is when I start my browser cos I have my browser set to delete all that cookies and stuff when I exit

It's the best password thing I've come across.

I use KeePass 1.x - can't remember why I chose it above 2.x. Using it on couple of PCs, Netbook, phone and iPad - all in sync via Dropbox. Great app.

Using lastpass too.. never experienced any problems.

lastpass.com for security you enter one password every time to use to access all your passwords OR you just change the setting to let it remain on when you restart/reopen your browser
