Sema - The weapons are a total mess for hunters in current form. There were buggerups where the gun from BQ10 man heroic was 4 dps behind the LK 25 Heroic crossbow. It all came into effect when they merged the ammo damage into the weapon damage... From my reading up, it seems blizzard is trying to move into a position where all weapon speeds will be normalised, and you wont see the benefit in dps from switching to faster / slower weapons... the only thing that will be affected is your rotation / priority order.
Now in the past you will remember that your slower weapons are normally better. This was way back from vanilla days when the crossbow from Chromaggus was shooting at something stupid like 3.4 if memory serves me right. Even in ICC days, you would find that LK 25 man bow was better on high movement fights, where the Zod was a better dps bow when it came to stationary fights. To be honest, dont worry to much about hunters now, we are pretty busted, and the focus is now all about getting Cataclysm out.
A blue post confirmed that we will only see some heavy class balancing coming out once cataclysm lands...
