Hi

I'm battling to get a my pc to use the Router's ADSL connection. Initially it would allow me to view the login page of the router but if I attempted to log on with the correct username and password, it would say it cannot display the webpage. I've checked the router by connecting it to other pcs and it works perfectly, and gives the connection. The router hasn't been played with at all,so I don't think it is a likely candidate for the problem.

After fiddling around I realised it was most likely a port issue, so I deleted BitDefender and was able to log on to the router but, no luck with the connection.I've tried using the USB connection to the router to make sure it wasn't the on board network card, with no success. If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it.

Many thanks in advance

So u can log on to the router now? Is it definitely dialing out the connection? IE under connections is it stating connected?

Since u can connect to it via ethernet i would guess your ip settings are correct. but just double check, if your router is being used as a dhcp server then make sure you are definitely receiving an address. start->run->cmd
ipconfig /all
check you have a valid ip subnet and ur default gateway and dns are set to the router.
then try ping it to make sure you have connectivity.
If so its almost certain your router/modem is not dialing out the connection. check the adsl connection settings/password etc and make sure it is dialing the connection out.
if yourrouter has the functionality try ping from it to some local site and see if you get a response.

This should help troubleshoot a bit

I re-read ur message and i am wondering if you have set the modem/router to definitely dial out the connection....

So you are having an issue in accessing the admin panel of the router from your own personal PC ?

I am also assuming that the browser is kicking back an error message that the page cannot be displayed. If you do have internet access through that router it may be that the browser that you are using is not compatible with the router's web engine. Check to see if the browser that you are using is the same the other working PCs
