Lol, you all better laugh at me now and get it over with :)

Made the mistake of buying a laptop which really had no thought into the placement of various plugs and ports... therefore i was stuck with 1 usb port being useless and 1 sitting very comfy with my external 3g laptop antenna

Made a discovery that if i unplug my external mouse from that said port, FULL hsdpa signal arrives!?!??!

Is the shielding in the external antenna cable rubbish or am i falling for monitor radiation sickness :P

Jared (now using touchpad :( )

just a clarification, the pcmcia card is right next to the 2 usb ports on the side, antenna socket facing the usb ports

I would guess that the shielding is bad to non-existent in those small clip-on antennas, but what make & model of notebook is it, and perhaps more importantly - are you using it on a metalic desk surface, also what type of mouse?

Acer travelmate 4070, using it on one of those wooden computer stand jobbies, mouse is a cheapy proline usb :)

Ok maybe consider trying a different USB mouse - borrow one if necessary and see if that also gives problems...
