A+, N+ , MCSE - Part time or fulltime CPT.

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but that borders on theft, myskills or the company they work through "mind leaders" might make a case against you. Be honest and do it honestly.
 
How can it be theft, is reading a book owned by somebody else theft? Is listening to somebody elses music theft? You payed for it its yours to do with as you wish. If i was getting an exam qualification out of it I could see your point.

You do get a exam qualification out of it, you study through them and have the opportunity to get 24/7 should you get stuck somewhere.

The course material is copyrighted, so yes my friend, it's theft.
 
That would mean I was duplicating course material and distributing it which im not, but was just an idea.

You said qualification was not through them but through an external center at an additional fee.

Yip, that's what I meant.

Concerning being a poor student, if you started off honestly, I could have given you some advice at the beginning.

I bought a CompTIA bundle course, I paid it off with myskills @ R500 per month. I'm not saying they will do this for you, but you could always ask politely.

I'm currently doing my MCSE (part time) at IT Intellect in Musgrave, Durban. Started training in February. Classes ended in October. Currently studying for exams.

Cost me R 19000 excluding exams.

Due to the terrible quality of the training I received, I would suggest that you get yourself Testout or CBT Nuggets training videos and do self study. You could also buy the MCSE self paced study guide.

Will save you a heap of money and you will in fact learn more than any 'trainer' can teach!

Honestly I think it depends on what your into, some of the people that study with me take more math, informatics or whatever because they find COS (computer science) modules hard.

Personally I find informatics very boring and math isn't exactly my cup of tea so I took as many COS modules as I could to minimize credits needed from others.

Only thing I've found is to try and keep your options open, so if you can take all the electives you need so you can take any of the second and final year modules (which in your case is the math modules).

As for individual COS modules it doesn't really matter, take what you find interesting, you're already on a higher level after first year than any person who had done a certification or whatever so it's up to you.

Almost all programming in SA is business applications so you only really need the fundamentals (IE. Know the principals involved in programming, not the language), honestly I doubt I'll be using anything I learned after my first year at varsity apart from design patterns (except in rare occasions)
 
Just wanted to give you guys my 2cents worth, and will try to do so from an objective viewpoint due to my interest in MySkills.co.za

I have a MCSE+I qualification (Not that it means much now, NT4 version) and did the core modules in a classroom and did all the electives self paced (Books and CBT). I went on to write 5 core exams and 6 electives.

Classroom was great from the viewpoint that I had a live person to talk to, however the negative of a classroom environment is the fact that a lecturer has a specific period of time to go through all the work and of course most importantly the cost was high.

I did all core modules before writing my first exam, and when I opened my books (files), and honestly, I realized that in fact I knew nothing. I even came across chapters that I don't even remember seeing when I was in the classroom.
So really, I was redoing all the work again, and as a result I decided to do the electives self paced, books and CBT.

My personally experience is that self paced was far more effective, and I actually enjoyed the experience more. However, the biggest negative of Self-paced training is self discipline, you have to make the time, and create a routine for when your going to study.

So if you are considering going for any certification do loads of research beforehand. Make sure that you understand clearly what is required from you. The web is a great wealth of information.

Getting certified is a process, do the course (Whether self paced or classroom), do some reputable mock exams, then write your exams. Believe it or not, the mock exams is a vital part of getting your certification, this prepares you for the way that questions are worded etc. The last thing that you want to do is pay for an exam and fail, that sucks…

You could do this and honestly no one would know.

However, the disadvantage is that the account would be in a specific individuals name, and once the course has been completed, that person would receive a completion certificate from myskills.

And, no I would not take any legal steps. :)
