We have seen the Samsung Ativ S tab and Ativ Smart PCWin8 tablets announced already with the Ativ S Tab already being on sale in the country via Standard Bank.
Now a new Samsung Windows 8 tablet has emerged through an English Chinese website.
The Samsung XE500T.
The article doesn't give the commercial name but we now know that the Ativ Smart PC is known as the 500T1C or 501T1C.
The XE500T spots the following specs:
- Windows 8 (not RT)
- 11.6" screen
- Intel Atom Processor
- 64GB hard drive
- 2 and 8 mega pixel cameras (front and back respectively)
Since this device has not been tauted yet and appears to be low key, I hope that it is a more affordable option to the Smart PC. At R10,000 to R19,000 (Smart PC vs Smart PC Pro) the full Windows 8 tablets we know already are quite a hard pill to swallow.
We hope the XE500T is a lot cheaper than the hinted prices of the Smart PC.
