A nice suprise from Telkom... Miracles never cease!

I put and order through for ADSL in February......denied, March......denied, Arpril......denied, May......denied, June......denied, July......denied. Very discouraged, I actually gave up. I heard the no port story, to far away, fibre optic exchnge, need a mini-dslam(mini exchange) then from being told about fiber optic then that changed to our infrastructure is too old and the copper quality is too bad. OMF I heard it all.

10h39 Cell phones rings. Hi James, this is Sam from Telkom. I am outside your office installing your ADSL. Please make sure you have made your arrangements with your ISP so I can get you up and running for the weekend.

*Stunned, has heart attack and falls over*

Now there is an idea I just remembered, when I ordered the last time they asked if I wanted TelkomSA ISP, I said no. They asked why and I said I can get 30gig for R199.

Telkom " *incert accent here* How, how, how, eish. So cheap... but 30gigs, who is this from" ROFL still has me in histerics

Well that is it, FINALLY up on DSL at work too now. For every one that was told "We are sorry, you are too far away" you can now fight. We are on Telkoms new mini-DSLAM aka mini-exchange. This also solves the problem of fibre-optic termination.
