Last night, whilst enthralled in an epic battle with The GLA , map #1044 she spoke up....

"Hey! LastBornMoose, do you want to try and build an one thousand piece puzzle with me?"

This was happening on the table right behind me and what made it worse, as every married man knows, it be code for , "Hey Husband, get your lazy gaming arse over here and interact with us! "

I swung around on my chair, surveying the absolute futility, that was a one thousand piece of jigsaw that lay scattered across the dining room table..... as a GLA suicide bomber blew up one of my tanks....

The agonizing cross I had to bear, as my men succumbed to chemical scuds dropping on them from all directions, their screams forever burnt on my memory, I started to look for the corner pieces of the puzzle....

I shall come right out and say it now.....

PUZZLES Fecking suck, they are pointless and screw with my mind, this particular puzzle having being built at least twelve times in the Moose Mansion, only to be destroyed once the builder has been showered in praise...

My question, how many of you out there find puzzles frustrating and pointless?
How many of you love building puzzles and think puzzle building is the best thing since the ZX Spectrum?

The English HO, turned to me, with that smile only a loving wife could give and said, "Don't you find puzzles so relaxing? , I do........"

With my blood pressure sky high, I mumbled something inaudible as the yet another of my base buildings on the PC behind me went up in flames!

:erm:

Your anguish is duly noted... :D

My HO loves puzzling too. Fortunately, usually, I am not roped into these things. Usually, I am left to dither along without requirements made on me.

I will say this, the last puzzle I found myself doing - which was far too ambitious for my remaining, overworked and often vexed brain cells - was around 20% complete when our industrious domestic worker decided to put it all back into its box. For of course it was just me leaving a mess on the dining room table. Suffice to say I haven't had another urge to have a crack at it.

I myself enjoy them, but I never do them as a family affair. Would be keen to try a 3D puzzle one day

Nothing better than doing 1000+ piece puzzles in winter with the fire going and drinking got chocolate.

Something tells me you hold your tongue several times a day more than the average male

Only if there's sex afterwards :p

Preferably on the rug in front of the fireplace :o

Or on top of the puzzle - ensuring you never have to piece it together again.

what year is it 1908?
there are at least 1000 better things to do than a puzzle.

its like adult colouring books, WTF.

if the wife ever pulls a stunt like that I will tell her to stop fecking about and ask me the question she is building up for.

this sounds like the most boring thing possible to me.
I did not like building puzzles as a kid, and even the 3d puzzles are still just a way to keep yourself from doing something more important, like watching paint dry.

Sounds like just the thing I need, no noise. I'm awefully tired of noise

Do you have difficulty in seeing straight lines?

Maybe start with a 30-piece and build your way up.

no thanks, watching paint dry sounds more entertaining.
think of all the board games you could play instead.
or online games.
or the good books you can read
or the thing you can learn to do on youtube.
or that research on your financial security.
or that skill you could improve to make your life better.

Feck that, building a puzzle is litrally the worst use of time I can think of.

The above could apply to spending time on the forum. Or even worse, wasting time on the forum discussing not wasting time by doing a frivolous activity.

Learning, productivity and relaxation all have their part, some people relax in different ways to others. I love reading too, but at times a puzzle is nice as well.
