Hi all, I'm Adrian (25), I'm new here and I have a large interest in something rather obscure - old literature and equipment from the early days of satellite TV, particularly DStv.

I am currently looking for the DStv magazines from about 1999. I know in about the year 2000 there was the "dish" magazine. Before that in the 90's it was simply called the MultiChoice "tv magazine".

What I would like to ask is, does anyone know when exactly the magazine changed its name and if it was already called "dish" back in 1999 or if it was still called the "tv magazine" at that point?

The reason why I look for these is because 1999 was a very interesting year for DStv with many changes occurring. It was the changeover from the PAS 4 to the PAS 7 satellite, the proper introduction of the interactive channels like the Mosaic on channel 99 and many more things. It would be nice to read about it and see pictures, as I was a bit too young to remember it.

And, of course, if anyone by chance still has some of these magazines, that would be even better, but I do realize it was very long ago. :)

Many thanks in advance.

Didn't you say hello earlier on today. Have you created more than 1 user?

Don't they have online editions as well?

Yes they do, that's right. The thing is the time period I'm looking for. Back in 1999 it was only a printed magazine, with a simpler TV guide on the MultiChoice website, and of course the TV guide (EPG) on the decoder itself. The thing is, I imagine any literature and pictures would be in the printed magazine itself.

Have you tried the DSTV forums http://forum.dstv.com/index.php

Thanks, I haven't checked that out yet no, thanks for the link.

I was thinking of perhaps using my university's library interloan system to get them, but for that I need the name of the publication as it appears on the material, or the ISSN/ISBN, and a whole lot of other info. Maybe it's still the same as the one in the current magazine, I'll go and check it out.
