How much for an old ati radeon 4850 512mb gpu...price...2nd hand to sell for...

thanx..

Pretty much nothing. I had one, it's heart gave out after two years of valiant service. At any price level, I would recommend someone get a more modern, more efficient GPU.

How could you assure anyone that the card isn't on death's door?

well because i was running it and my dad's pc case is too small so cant use it there.
i have a weaker card at the moments and just need a fair price to sell...because i cant use any ati cards in my pc...
im now sticking with nvidia instead...

Maybe give it to a friend in exchange for a McDonald's Share Box or something. It wouldn't be responsible selling it for a material amount considering how power hungry, bulky and liable to death the card is at this stage.

I don't doubt that. If you're extremely confident about it not kicking the bucket any time soon, feel free to sell it for R500. It should preferably be to someone you know though, so you can provide a warranty. My point is only that it's not a card known for longevity.

I'd put it out at R600. The HD4850 can still run games at 720p with medium to low settings. Put it on carbonite.co.za, see how fast that thing will be snapped up.
