A quick estimate

And DJK, we really don't wanna hear about your penis problems. Maybe we should split this forum into two separate wealth and health sections.

Follow the life insurance link to the 1lifedirect link and complete their short questionnaire. A bit tedious, but they need to know your age, gender, smoker status, of course.

I blame blu for that. No, no split needed - health is more often than not directly related to wealth in any case...

Just a recommendation, get a quote from a life company too. For all the marketing like...

"What’s more, because 1Lifedirect is 100 % direct and has low infrastructure fees and no broker commissions, we can rebate commission usually paid to brokers back to the consumer."

...it was found that a comparative quote through a life company was cheaper. Also beware when you get told that there are no medicals. You'll probably pay more for the added risk the company is taking on. Think about it from a business perspective...

Glenrand MIB - Corporate cover R60,000 - R11.94 per month

Good points. But the flipside of the 'no medical' is that it can actually be cheaper for people who have big health problems (or below-average health the life 'pool').

depends on your age and what else you take with the life insurance

I have 1.7mil life and then 500k for disablity and 500k for that other thing thats like disability but not really.

Costs me about R400 a month (or less can't remember)

For old people I'd guess its less, so maybe now is the time to buy?

Don't go for R50 000 though

You need to have your annual salary cover your family for at least 5 years + inflation.
