Hey all,

So i am busy putting together a bachelor party for my mate who is getting hitched.

However my mate is a strange beast. He doesnt really drink much and does not like to go out. Does like basketball, seaside, sea food and Gundam models. He grew up in a seaside village in Hong kong and hasnt been fishing at all in the 12 years plus he has been in SA. So i am sure he will super excited about it.

So i was thinking of booking a place in at the seaside for the weekend so we can do some fishing, a bit of drinking and general catching up. We should be a party of 4-5.

The problem i have is i am not sure where to go.

I am currently considering Saldanha bay or Langebaan. If possible i also want to go to an area where we can find muscles, oysters and cracker shrimp for bait. Should i look into areas more to the south coast like Mossel bay?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :D

Not sure about areas in Cape Town, but if he likes fishing why not look at going deep sea fishing?

Go deep sea fishing, you are wasting your time standing on the shore anywhere in SA.They will provide bait and drinks and you can just fish without any worries.

Thanks for all the great responses guys! Much more options than i initially thought.

Didn't even consider deep sea.
Will do some research on deep sea fishing but a ball park cost if you guys know?

Langebaan, everything you want plus you can even have a mini-Vegas stag do at the casino!

Off season so renting a beachfront house for 4-5 guys should be very reasonable in terms of price.

hehehe SlinkyMike always delivers....

Not familiar with Cape Town pricing, in Durban you pretty much rent out the boat, skipper and a guy to help with bait/rod setup. The more people to share the costs the cheaper it is. The few that I did where about R600 per day and that was bring your own drinks/food. That was for about a 6-7 hour trip.
